Best padel training apps in 2026: an honest comparison

Disclosure: we make ShadowSwing. We've tried to rank it fairly, and it does one job on this list. Every other app is described from its maker's own site or App Store listing, checked on 19 October 2026.

The best padel training app depends on the job. To get feedback from a filmed match, Padel AI, Linceya and Padelize turn phone video into scores, a plan or movement stats. Padelio counts your strokes on an Apple Watch. The Padel School teaches through video lessons. ShadowSwing, which we make, is for swing reps at home with no court or ball. No single app does all of it.

How we compared them

Six things, in this order. What the app actually measures and how: match video, a stroke clip, watch motion, points you tap in, venue cameras or phone motion. What you need: a court, a phone on the glass or a tripod, a watch, a partner or a club with cameras. Platforms, as the maker states them. Price as listed on the official site or App Store, with the date. Whether there's a free tier. And who it suits. There's no overall score. Each app gets a "best for" for its job.

AI analysis of your match video

Padel AI

Padel AI says you film a match with your phone behind the glass and upload it. It scores six areas, bandeja, víbora, smash, volley, wall play and serve and return, on the Playtomic 1.0 to 7.0 scale, for you and every other player in the video. You get corrections, drills for your weakest shots and an AI coach chat. It also has a free live scoreboard (including from an Apple Watch) and an Americano organizer. The site says it's on iPhone and Android and localized in 37 languages.

Price on padelaiapp.com: Weekly $4.99 with 7 analysis credits, Annual $49.99 with about 100 credits. The US App Store listing also shows offers and credit packs, so the price you see in the app may differ.

Linceya

Its home page, linceya.com, is in French. Linceya says you upload a match video and get an AI report with an overall score and areas to improve, plus a tailored training program. It adds a certified ELO ranking and leagues with friends. The Elite plan adds computer-vision shot and movement detection, a heatmap and distance covered.

Price on linceya.com: Free with 1 AI analysis a month; Premium €9.99 a month (€11.99 from the app); Elite €44.99 a month (€49.99 from the app). The US App Store lists Premium at $12.99 a month or $99.99 a year and Elite at $44.99. The site links both the App Store and Google Play.

Padelize

Padelize records a match on your phone and returns movement stats for all four players: distance, average and top speed, sprints and estimated calories. You also get court-position heatmaps, AI coaching insights and automatic highlights. Shot analysis is listed as "coming soon", so it doesn't analyze your strokes yet. Its own line is fair: "Padelize does not replace a coach."

Price on padelize.ai: first match free; Pro €9.99 a month or €99 a year; €3.99 for a single match. The US App Store lists $8.99 a month, $89.99 a year and $3.99 a match. The site says iOS and Android.

SwingVision

Its App Store name is SwingVision: Tennis Pickleball, and padel came later. Its App Store listing says "Padel is now available to all players", and later updates mention tagging players in padel recordings and saving padel workouts from the Apple Watch. Its site doesn't yet describe padel stats, so check what the padel mode shows before you pay. It needs an iPhone on iOS 18 or an iPad on iPadOS 18 and a mount, and swing.vision says there's no Android version yet (see tennis apps for Android).

US App Store: Plus $14.99 a month or $95.99 a year; Pro $24.99 a month or $179.99 a year; Max $39.99 a month or $299.99 a year.

AI analysis of one stroke: OnCourtAI

OnCourtAI (oncourtai.co.uk, a different company from the OnCourt AI tennis app at oncourt.ai) analyzes a short side-on clip of one stroke. It covers nine: forehand, backhand, serve, volley, lob, bandeja, víbora, smash and chiquita. It returns a 0 to 100 technique score, a Playtomic-style level, and feedback on preparation, contact, swing and follow-through, plus an AI coach chat. Its own FAQ says padel analysis is newer than its tennis analysis "and the AI is actively learning", so results "may be less precise". It's on web, iOS and Android. Uploading a padel shot is free; the page says Pro memberships unlock unlimited uploads but doesn't list a price.

Smartwatch apps

Padelio

Listed on the US App Store as Pickleball Tracker: Padelio. It uses Apple Watch sensors to identify and record strokes, including lobs, volleys, bandejas, víboras and smashes, keeps score live from the watch (including multiplayer scoring), and tracks calories and heart rate in Health. It covers padel and pickleball, on iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch. Free to download; Pro from $6.99 a month or $44.99 a year, with a $69.99 lifetime option.

PADEL'EM

PADEL'EM keeps score from your watch and lets you log shots, errors and stroke types as you play, with flexible formats including Americano and spoken score announcements. Its AI coach builds training plans from your stats. It needs an Apple Watch or a Wear OS watch, and the listing says the phone app is for viewing and interacting with the data. It's the only watch option here that names Wear OS. Free to download; the US App Store lists several plans from $6.99 a month and from $44.99 a year.

Padel Stats AI

Padel Stats AI is built for logging points: nine match configurations, points logged from a connected watch (winner, unforced error, serve winner, return error, double fault), graphs and point history, and live sharing to another screen or a web link. The listing says it's designed for players, coaches and referees. It's free; the listing mentions a Pro version but no price.

Learning from coaches: The Padel School

The Padel School is a lesson library rather than a tracker: structured courses, on-demand coaching videos on technique, strategy and match play, drills and practice plans, a community and expert Q&A sessions. US App Store: $15.00 a month or $149.99 a year. It suits players without a regular coach who want a curriculum.

Club court cameras

Some clubs install multi-angle cameras on their courts. PlaySight's padel SmartCourt, for example, offers replay, AI-created highlights and match analytics. You don't buy these in an app store. They only work if your club has them, and pricing is set by the club. Ask at your front desk.

Practicing the swing with no court: ShadowSwing

This is ShadowSwing's job, and it's the only job it does on this list. Hold your phone like the grip and swing. In padel mode the padel ball sound plays at contact only once the racket head is moving fast enough, so a stiff, pushed stroke stays silent. That makes it an app for shadow padel: swinging the bandeja, volley or víbora with no ball and getting a signal when the release is loose. It counts swings, fills a daily goal ring, and runs coach-voice workouts with padel presets. Shot Analysis replays a single stroke in 3D on a padel court, showing the path of the racket head and where its face pointed through the swing. With Pro you also get racket-head speed on every swing.

The limits matter. It doesn't track the ball, so there's no ball speed, spin, placement or anything off the glass. It doesn't watch your body, so it can't check your grip, stance, footwork, positioning or contact point. It doesn't give you a level, it isn't a coach, and it doesn't replace court time.

If you also use a match-video app, the two can work together: the video shows what breaks down on court, and ShadowSwing is one way to get swing reps between bookings. For the routine itself, see padel training at home (drills without a court). If you're weighing a physical trainer instead, see physical swing trainers vs the app.

Price on the US App Store: free to download, no account. Pro removes the limits and is $4.99 a month or $39.99 a year. The app shows the price for your region. Prices vary by country. iPhone and Android.

Do you need an app at all?

No. Lessons, court time and regular matches with a partner do most of the work. Apps help with specific jobs, and for work between bookings with no app at all, see padel training at home (drills without a court).

What about booking apps?

Playtomic is an app for booking courts and finding matches, and several apps above borrow its 1.0 to 7.0 level scale. It's a booking app, not a training app, so it isn't ranked here.

Questions

What is the best padel training app?

It depends on the job. For feedback from a filmed match, Padel AI, Linceya and Padelize turn phone video into technique scores, a plan, or movement and positioning stats. Padelio counts strokes on an Apple Watch. The Padel School teaches through lessons. ShadowSwing, which we make, is for swing reps at home with no court.

Is there a free padel app for training?

Most have a free start. Padelize gives your first match analysis free. Linceya's free plan includes one AI analysis a month. Padel Stats AI is free, and Padelio and PADEL'EM are free to download with paid Pro plans. ShadowSwing is free to download with no account; Pro removes the limits. Prices checked 19 October 2026.

Can an app analyze my padel technique from video?

Yes, several now do. Padel AI scores six areas, including the bandeja, víbora and smash, from match video on the Playtomic 1.0 to 7.0 scale. OnCourtAI breaks down a single side-on stroke clip and says its padel analysis may be less precise than its tennis analysis. Treat the scores as a guide alongside a coach's eye.

Does SwingVision work for padel?

Yes. SwingVision's App Store listing says padel is now available to all players. It needs an iPhone or iPad on iOS 18, and its site says there's no Android version yet. Its site doesn't yet describe padel stats in detail, so check what the padel mode shows before paying for a plan.

Which padel apps work with an Apple Watch or Android watch?

Padelio detects strokes and keeps score on Apple Watch. PADEL'EM works on Apple Watch and Wear OS for scoring and logging points. Padel Stats AI logs points from a connected watch. Padel AI says its scoreboard also works from your wrist on Apple Watch.

Can an app replace a padel coach?

No. Video-analysis apps can show you patterns and give you a number to track, and Padelize says itself that it "does not replace a coach". Reading the glass, positioning with your partner and decision-making still develop best with a coach and court time.

Is there an app for shadow padel?

Yes. ShadowSwing, which we make, turns your phone into the grip. In padel mode the ball sound plays only once the racket head moves fast enough, so a loose bandeja or volley is rewarded. It doesn't track the ball or your body. For drills, see padel training at home and shadow swings for padel.

Do I need an app to improve at padel?

No. Lessons, court time and regular matches matter most. Apps help with specific jobs: seeing your match on video, counting strokes, following lessons, or getting swing reps between bookings. For work between sessions, the padel training at home guide needs no app at all.
