Holding the phone

  • Hold on tight. A wrist lanyard or strap case is a good idea — full swings send phones flying.
  • Grip the phone like a racket handle. The top of the phone is the racket tip and the screen is the string face.
  • Clear a wide space — nothing breakable within a full arm-plus-phone radius, ceiling included.
  • Swing a real stroke. The hit rewards the whip — the wrist releasing at speed — not a stiff push. If you hear nothing, you are probably muscling it.
  • Use the iPhone speaker. Bluetooth headphones and speakers add latency, which is exactly what ruins the timing feedback.
  • If the hit feels too easy or too hard to trigger, ShadowSwing Pro has advanced hit tuning in settings.

Restore purchases

If you reinstalled the app or moved to a new iPhone, open ShadowSwing, go to the Pro or settings screen and tap Restore Purchases. Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple Account you used to buy Pro. Restoring works for both the Lifetime purchase and an active Annual subscription.

If the restore does not find your purchase, check Settings → your name → Media & Purchases → View Account → Purchase History on the iPhone to confirm which Apple Account holds it.

Manage or cancel a subscription

Subscriptions live in your Apple Account, not in the app, so cancel them there:

  1. Open Settings on your iPhone.
  2. Tap your name at the top.
  3. Tap Subscriptions.
  4. Tap ShadowSwing, then cancel or change the plan.

If you are in the 7-day free trial, cancel at least 24 hours before it ends or it converts into a paid year. Cancelling keeps Pro active until the end of the period you already paid for.

Refunds

Apple sells the app, so Apple handles refunds. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple Account, and choose the ShadowSwing purchase. We cannot issue or override a refund ourselves.

Common questions

  • I swing and hear nothing. Check the ringer switch and volume, make sure audio is not routed to a Bluetooth device, and swing with a released wrist rather than a stiff arm.
  • The hit sounds late. You are almost certainly on Bluetooth. Switch to the iPhone speaker.
  • I ran out of swings. The free version gives 30 swings a day, the first day included. The counter resets the next day. Pro removes the limit.
  • The coach voice is silent during a workout. Check the ringer switch and volume first, then Settings → Coach voice in the app; the workout itself can also have its voice switched off in the builder. With the voice off the cues still come through as haptics.
  • My workout counted a rep I did not mean. A rep is a hit: the app counts whenever your wrist releases at speed, and it cannot see which stroke you played. Doing the stroke the coach called is up to you.
  • I only get one workout a day. That is the free allowance, every day. Pro gives unlimited workouts and lets you build your own.
  • Is the speed number a ball speed? No. It is an estimate of racket-head speed from the phone's own motion. Use it to compare your own swings over time.
  • Does it work on iPad or Apple Watch? No. iPhone only.
